Roasting peanuts Reflection

Today I did Immersion with Amy and we roasted peanuts. We had to get into groups of 4. It was satisfeing to watch because we watched all the oil come out of the peanuts. The first thing we did was get a candle and put it in a candle holder and put it in the sink water some cold water. The groups had to light the candle with a match. We had steel tongs and we had to hold the burning peanut in the sink until the fire went out. It was cool to watch. Once the peanuts stop burning we had to drop it in the sink of cold water. The bigger the peanut was the longer it burns for. We had to time how long the peanuts burnt for.

Stain removers

Today for immersion we got into groups of four and we had to bring in things that would stain things and we had to bring stain removers. I brought the lemon as a stain remover. As the stain we use food colouring . We had to put the food colouring  on a type of mateareil . The rest of my group brought the powdered detergent and the vinager . The detergent worked the best out of all of them. But all of them worked. It was really fun to experiment with them.

Immersion reflection

Today, some of LC7 did an experiment called elephants toothpaste. First, we got into pairs, my partner was my friend  Keira, then we read the instructions and the steps. Nicole said when we are finished reading the steps and everything we were aloud to start making it. It was really cool, but we weren't, aloud to touch the foam because it has something in it that isn't good for your hands. It was really fun to watch it rise. When our one overflowed, we had to put it in a bowl. I noticed that the more yeast and water you put in, the more it overflows. Our Elephants toothpaste was green because of the colour  of the dishwashing liqoured .
